Head Football Coach - Greg Manior

Greg Manior, a graduate of Effingham County High School, is the Head Football Coach for the Mustangs. He teaches Driver Education at South Effingham High School.

Coach Manior was a four-year letterman at Effingham County High School and was inducted into the Effingham County High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. While playing at ECHS, Coach Manior helped guide the Rebels to the 1987 South Georgia Championship and State Runner-up.

Coach Manior is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he was a four-year letter winner. While at NC State. Coach Manior played in a bowl game every year of his college career. The Copper Bowl, the Peach Bowl, the All-American Bowl and the Gator Bowl. After graduation. Coach Manior was picked as a free agent for the Washington Redskins.


Coach Manior holds a bachelors degree from
NC State and a Masters degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Before becoming the Head Football Coach at South Effingham High School, Coach Manior served as Offensive Coordinator at SEHS. Head Football Coach at Savannah High School, and Running Backs coach at Effingham County High School.

DONNIE REVELL - DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR

Donnie Revell is the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach for the SEHS Mustangs. He also teaches Physical Education. Coach Revell received an A.A. Degree in Game and Fish Management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, A B.S. degree in Physical Education and Health from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. and a Masters in Education from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Il. Coach Revell has had several coaching positions including Bainbridge High School, Wingate University, Olivet Nazarene University, North Stafford High School, and Altavista High School.

 

 


KERRY DEMERE - OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

Coach Demere is in his first year with the South Effingham Mustangs football program as the quarterbacks and backs coach. He is a 1986 graduate of A. E. Beach High School where he played defensive line. In 1990, he received his B.A. degree from the prestigious Howard University in Washington, DC, where he had a successful football career as an offensive lineman with the Bisons of Howard University.  He later continued his pursuit of higher education earning his doctorate of education degree in Educational Leadership from Fielding Graduate University.  Coach Demere brings eleven years of coaching expertise to an already outstanding Mustang staff. After coaching one year at Myers Middle School, Coach Demere coached the offensive line at Jenkins High School from 1995-1997. During Coach Demere tenure at Beach High, he also served as defensive and offensive coordinator and coached several positions.


Defensive Line - Tony Kirkland

Tony Kirkland, a native of Dothan, Alabama, graduated from Florida State University in 1991. He began his coaching career at Woodham High School in Pensacola, Florida where he coached backs and receivers. In 1992, he joined the football staff  at Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia.  During his tenure in Colquitt County, he coached the defensive line in ten consecutive playoff appearances. He also led as assistant baseball coach. He is the only Colquitt County coach to hold three state championship rings: one football and two in baseball. Kirkland coached the defensive line to the 1994 AAAA State Championship title which the Packers ended the season, 15-0. In 1997, he contributed to Colquitt County’s first AAAA State Championship season in baseball as an assistant coach. Again, June of 2003, Kirkland assisted the Colquitt County baseball team in earning another State Championship title. Kirkland will serve as South Effingham High School’s defensive line coach, as well as the head baseball coach.



CHAD NIGHBERT - DEFENSIVE BACKS

Chad is a 1993 graduate of Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany.  He teaches the Special Education department.  Coach Nighbert coaches the defensive backs and is also the head boys track and field coach.

Coach Nighbert was a four year letterman at Frankfurt High School.  He participated in football, track and field, wrestling and basketball.

Coach Nighbert is a graduate of Georgia Southern University.  Coach Nighbert earned pre-season All American honors as well as post season All American rankings as linebacker.  Georgia Southern's record while Chad Nighbert played as 37 - 15.

Coach Nighbert holds a bachelors and a masters degree from Georgia Southern University, and also holds a specialists degree from Argosy University, Sarasota, Florida. He has completed all classes and requirements for his doctorate except for the completion of dissertation.

Coach Nighbert has been coaching for 9 years.  He coached football and basketball at Effingham County High School.  Coach Nighbert coached football at South East Bulloch and comes to South Effingham to coach football and track.
